JUMP OFFICIAL TRAILER (by BlinderFilms)

JUMP follows the lives of four twenty-something’s whose lives collide one fateful New Year’s Eve amidst the ancient walls of Derry, Northern Ireland in a night of fast talk, accidents and intrigue.

Johnny, a small time crook, and Marie, a dissatisfied shop assistant are both looking for a fresh start. Greta is on the verge of taking her own life and Pearse has a bounty on his head for asking difficult questions about his missing brother Eddie Kelly.

As the clock ticks down to midnight and the night’s events expertly fall into place, JUMP weaves an existential portrait of our character’s lives as their hopes, fears and secrets are revealed.

Places in Film I’d Love to Visit**
Isla Sorna and Isla Nublar in Jurassic Park I, II, III

** by visit I totally mean under the circumstances that I won’t be used for bait, chased after, stomped on, ripped to shreds and/or eaten.

Win movie merchandise from ‘The Girl Who Played With Fire’

It is one of the few films I’ll be mad if I don’t see in the cinema, now that it’s out.

The Girl Who Played With Fire’ is, of course, the sequel to “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” and hit our cinema screens last weekend.

I loved the first film in the Millennium series - distinctly dark, scary and compulsive viewing, so will try to make this one. Haven’t read the books before though!

The official movie synopsis:

Lisbeth Salander (NOOMI RAPACE) returns in THE GIRL WHO PLAYED WITH FIRE.

Salander is forced to go back to Sweden from her Caribbean exile when she discovers her guardian, Bjurman (PETER ANDERSSON), is breaking the conditions of their ‘arrangement.’

Meanwhile, Mikael Blomkvist (MICHAEL NYQVIST) is back at Millennium magazine intent on exposing a billion dollar sex trafficking ring controlled by high profile government officials.

When Bjurman is found murdered and two Millennium researchers are shot dead by Bjurman’s gun, Salander’s fingerprints are on the weapon and she emerges as the police’s chief suspect.  Determined to prove her innocence, Blomkvist attempts to track down his former partner and lover and uncover the truth.

Already in hiding, Salander is forced to go on the run and soon stumbles upon secrets of her own past.

I’ve been given five merchandise packs to give away to celebrate the launch of the film. Each pack includes a t-shirt and a copy of the Stieg Larsson novel.

Just stick your name below in the comments if you want the merchandise. First come, first served.

Big thanks to Momentum Pictures and Kate Bowe PR for the prizes :)

Win tickets to the Irish Premiere of Disney’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice

Nope, it’s not the old film - with that thrilling Fantasia scene, but a brand new version that’s a live-action story version of the original, beloved classic:

Walt Disney Studios, and Producer of the PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN trilogy, Jerry Bruckheimer, present THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE - an innovative and epic comedy adventure about a sorcerer and his hapless apprentice who are swept into the center of an ancient conflict between good and evil.

Balthazar Blake (NICOLAS CAGE) is a master sorcerer in modern-day Manhattan trying to defend the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath (ALFRED MOLINA).

Balthazar can’t do it alone, so he recruits Dave Stutler (JAY BARUCHEL), a seemingly average guy who demonstrates hidden potential, as his reluctant protégé.

The sorcerer gives his unwilling accomplice a crash course in the art and science of magic, and together, these unlikely partners work to stop the forces of darkness. It’ll take all the courage Dave can muster to survive his training, save the city and get the girl as he becomes THE SORCERERS APPRENTICE.

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice opens in Irish cinemas 11th August, cert PG, but thanks to Disney Movies Ireland I’ve got 10 pairs of tickets to the premiere on Sunday 8 August at 11am in Cineworld, Parnell Street, Dublin 1 to give away

Just comment below if you want a pair. First come, first served!

EDIT: and very quickly they have now all been won. Thanks for the interest!
