Bouncing our way to a Guinness World Record this...
One of the events I’m most looking forward to in this year’s Street Performance World Championship (Facebook page here) is the Guinness World Record Attempt on Sunday June 20 on Mount Street in Dublin. We’re hoping to get 1,500 people on Spacehoppers in front of the Pepper Canister Church to break the world record.  To apply just drop a line to worldrecord@spwc.ie -...

Blogging, blagging, ligging, PR whoring - my...
*Sigh* Even as I begin to type this, I know it will cause some sort of “controversy” because (a) it’s me, (b) it’s not something I’ve blogged about before, (c) people have a variety of different views and (d) people like a good bitchfest discussion.  So, to negate all that slightly, I’m putting in the following disclaimer: I’m writing about me and how I...

Smirnoff: BE THERE: South Africa - the invitation,...
So my trip with Smirnoff to Berlin didn’t happen as I’ve posted, but South Africa, though only provisionally on the cards, was confirmed on April 29. The South Africa event - part of the Smirnoff: BE THERE campaign, their programme to get people out of their comfort zone for a one-of-a-kind experience was due to be a mash-up - something headliner Tiesto would have had no problem...

I mentioned in the last post how much I was looking forward to it but I’m not sure I was fully prepared for how good the night would be. For a bargain €30 each, Steph and I got to...

From Galway to Broadway and back again: Druid is...
I’m taking advantage of the free wifi on the Galway to Dublin GoBus to express my absolute joy of being able to journey to Galway tonight for Druid’s 35th birthday celebrations. While I’ve always loved theatre, it’s really only in the last two years I’ve been able to properly indulge myself in an investment in it. I support performances in both Dublin’s Abbey...

My trip to Berlin cancelled because of the...
Did I ever tell you about the time I nearly got an all expenses trip to Berlin to cover a gig for Smirnoff? Smirnoff - their PR company in Ireland is WHPR who I do a lot with - have events called “Smirnoff: BE THERE” taking place around the world. I took a phone call at the end of March to cover one of their gigs. In Berlin. That’s right, a brand wanted to bring me to Berlin...

Volunteering for events now includes tweeting and...
Those that know me will tell you I like events. Big events, small events, charity events, tourist events and festivals - I’ve volunteered and worked at a number of them. I have an extensive collection of t-shirts and lanyards from events like the Cat Laughs International Comedy Festival (3 years), the 2010 Cork International Choral Festival, St Patrick’s Festival (7 years), The...
